Hummingbird Wet Felting Two Day Workshop with Joyce Hazlerig

Sarafina Fiber Art’s Wet Felted Hummingbird Tapestry this is a wonderful way to start wet felting and work with a variety of colorful fibers, a rainbow of merinos, and shiny silks and curling hand dyed locks! Taught by Sarafina Certified Instructor Joyce Hazlerig who has 17yrs of felting experience. She has been teaching felting classes all over Texas and beyond. A larger than life project that invites creativity and imagination participants will have an amazing time and be able to watch this beautiful creation come to life under their hands. 

No previous felting experience necessary but of course welcome! This is a primarily wet felted project; expect to stand and be pretty active with working your piece. This a pretty vigorous exercise! All materials, templates and fibers will be provided, and you  can keep any fibers that are extra. And of course you will have your beautiful finished piece.

The first day will be laying out the design and then wet felting. We will allow our creations to dry out over night and the next day we will add a few needle felted details to the hummingbird and discuss how to make a hanger or mounting to display the finished piece. Your wall hanging will finish out about 20” x 20” square.
