Intro to Weaving with Don Thorp and Rick Hineline

Discover the joy of weaving in this hands-on introductory class, perfect for absolute beginners or anyone curious about handwoven textiles. In this workshop, you’ll learn the core skills needed to create a small handwoven piece using a rigid heddle loom.

Each student will work on a pre-warped loom provided by the shop, so you can jump straight into weaving without needing to warp your own loom. You’ll explore foundational techniques like spreading the warp, beating evenly, changing colors, and finishing with hemstitch. By the end of class, you’ll complete a mug rug (or two, if you weave quickly!) and gain the confidence to continue weaving on your own.

This first session is offered at a special introductory rate as we refine pacing and gather feedback for future weaving classes.
